Are you passionate about assembly? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Vista & Vista SD Assembly team. As an Assembler, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job, you will assemble VISTA units and corresponding subassemblies. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and must meet requirements within time constraints. This is an assembly line operation involving as many as six stations. Initially you will be assigned to one station but will need to be flexible and open to working additional stations as business needs require. Tasks require a high degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools; occasionally work while standing on ladders; and occasionally work inside tight compartments.

Requirements

  • High School/GED diploma required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic shop math and measurement tools such as tape measures.
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions, assembly drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge and ability to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools.
  • 2 years of mechanical assembly and/or electrical wiring experience.
  • Candidates with electrical or mechanical trade school education may also be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble VISTA Switch, both on the assembly line and directly on the shop floor.
  • Identify, transport, install, mount and bolt all types of components (ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs., with assistance), including bus assemblies, high-voltage switches, mounting and support plates, lock assemblies.
  • Perform mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and tape measures.
  • Have proficiency in the use of simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges, instruments and overhead cranes.
  • Operate simple machinery such as automatic Press machines.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Measure, cut, route, bundle, and label wires according to engineering specifications.
  • Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as crimpers, wire strippers, cutters, heat guns, and torque tools.
  • Crimp terminals, lugs, connectors, and other electrical components in accordance with established standards.
  • Verify wire sizes, colors, routing, and terminations against drawings and work instructions.
  • Conduct continuity checks and basic electrical inspections to ensure proper assembly.
  • Identify and report material shortages, drawing discrepancies, quality concerns, or process issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet customer and production requirements.
