The Assembler II is responsible for the hand assembly of parts into the electronic circuit board for conformance to established specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and have good judgment
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities for operation of machines, including visual inspection, using measurement devices; and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Ability or increased ability to see color, or perceive color differences, under normal lighting conditions
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to properly assemble components into printed circuit boards
  • demonstrate proper technique for clinching and trimming leads
  • demonstrate proper material handling techniques to ensure component reliability and to avoid damaging components and boards
  • set-up, verify, and use tools and equipment in area
  • operate and verify torque of torque wrenches
  • follow requirements for 1st piece inspections and in-process audits
  • identify and segregate non-conforming material
  • review shelf life of materials prior to usage (when applicable)
  • demonstrate proper handling precautions when working with process chemicals and materials
  • measure height requirements with appropriate measuring tools when required
  • able to identify work order, assembly number, and revision level of assembly from manufacturing instructions
  • correctly handles process deviation or ECO is in the manufacturing instructions
  • work without assistance using manufacturing instructions with acceptable quality results
  • use the appropriate method to request changes, corrections or clarification to a manufacturing instruction
  • perform general area/equipment/machine cleaning
  • Other duties may be assigned.
