About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking an Assembler II for the 1st shift. The core hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The hourly rate is $22.52 per hour, though actual salary may vary based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. As an Assembler II, you will be responsible for building complete department products to meet Company productivity and performance metrics. This role involves assembling various components such as terminal blocks, solder, circuit breakers, lights, and special explosion-proof products. You will collaborate with Supervision and Assembly Group Leaders to execute released jobs efficiently and work with Engineering and Quality personnel to maintain quality standards. The position requires attention to detail in assembling specific product lines and ensuring proper explosion-proof specifications. You will also perform minor maintenance tasks as part of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), maintain a clean and safe work area, and document any errors found in production documentation, recommending improvements. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the Material Replenishment System (MRS) and floor stock system, promote a team environment, and complete assigned training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position.

  • Additional educational or vocational training is a plus but not required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build complete all department products as required to ensure Company productivity and performance metrics are met.
  • Assemble terminal blocks, solder, circuit breakers, lights, or special explosion-proof products including D2PB, EBM, EBMX, ECP, EGF, EIC, EID, EIH, EJB, ELPS, EMN, EPC, FLB, FLS, N2LPS, Receptacles, and XLC product lines.
  • Collaborate with Supervision and Assembly Group Leaders to execute released jobs in a timely, orderly manner.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality personnel.
  • Maintain quality work in the preparation of assemblies.
  • Perform all duties of the group to maintain workflow and ensure quality standards and customer service requirements are met.
  • Assemble EJB/ECP’s larger than 120804.
  • Check work for proper explosion-proof specification as prescribed; detect and segregate faulty material.
  • Perform drilling and/or tapping operations as required with portable and hand tools such as electric drill, pneumatic or hand screwdriver, hammer, etc.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as minor maintenance that includes cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication and tightening loose bolts.
  • Follow prescribed or standard safety procedure.
  • Detect and report defective materials and faulty equipment operation and refer all unusual cases to proper supervision.
  • Document errors found in drawings, prints, production orders, or other paperwork used to produce customer orders, and recommend engineering changes and improvements.
  • Help maintain in the day-to-day maintenance of the M.R.S. (Material Replenishment System) and floor stock system as necessary and within established procedures.
  • Help promote a team environment.
  • Complete training as assigned.
