About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Assembler II (Large Pack). This position is primarily focused on assisting and setting up for Welders in the Cable Tray department. The Assembler II will assemble and stack/band Cable Tray ladders. The Assembler II will handle materials and parts up to 50-pounds frequently throughout the shift. The role involves performing simple repetitive assembly of parts and components using bolts, screws, hand tools, clips, and other fastening devices. Work is performed under close supervision and may involve working from models, samples, or simple diagrams. The position also supports facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives, including maintaining 5-S principles and visual management tools, and encouraging participation in Kaizen improvements.

Requirements

  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Require fine manipulation of hands with repetitive motion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Handle materials that pertain to large part construction, weighing 50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
  • Must be able to handle materials up to 50 pounds (with assistance)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with manufacturing fabrication.
  • Demonstrated welding ability / knowledge - A welding demonstration is preferred
  • Set-up and troubleshoot welding equipment.
  • Examine and measure workpieces for defects and to ensure conformance.
  • Ability to weld aluminum and steel.
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop orders.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, production quotas, and all documentation associated with product movement and confirmations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple repetitive assembly of parts and components
  • Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices

  • Handle 50-pound parts to assist with large part construction
  • Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives
  • Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
