About The Position

The Assembler I completes final assembly of bus door panels or kits for direct shipment to customers. The role follows blueprints, routers, process standard sheets (PSS), bills of material (BOMs), and instructions from the Team Leader and supervisor to assemble door panels with varied options and add-ons. Work is performed on either the first shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, or the second shift, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM. The role may also include other duties outside the assembler’s function or trade, with adequate training provided if necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to use prints, BOMs, and PSSs to assemble products.
Up to one year may be required to reach acceptable proficiency on all job-related tasks.
Ability to work either first shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, or second shift, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Offer of employment is conditioned on successfully completing a drug screen and fitness-for-duty test, as applicable.

Responsibilities

Use hand tools and light pneumatic and electric power tools to attach roller brackets to fabricated door panels.
Install extruded rubber seals into door channels, manually or with a special automatic puller.
Attach hinges to doors using a nut driver.
Measure and cut rubber for sensitive edges and install it into door channels; route and run wire into sensitive edges.
Install glass windows in door panels and attach CLASS sensors when specified in the print.
Attach brush seals to panel bases, mount cover plates over brush mounts, and assemble shafts and arms to door panels.
Perform spray-paint touch-ups where necessary; apply caulk and adhesives as appropriate; and install handles when specified in the print.
Follow prints, BOMs, PSSs, routers, and instructions to assemble products.
