About The Position

Completes final assembly of bus door panels or kits for direct shipment to customers. Follows blueprints, routers, process standard sheets (PSS), bills of material (BOMs), and instructions from the Team Leader and supervisor to assemble a wide variety of door panels with different options and add-ons. The role may also include performing duties outside the assembler’s function or trade; adequate training will be provided when necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to use prints, BOMs, and PSSs to assemble products.
Job-related tasks require up to one year to reach acceptable proficiency.
Able to work either the 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) or 2nd shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM).
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Employment offer is conditioned on successful completion of a drug screen and fitness-for-duty test, as applicable.

Responsibilities

Assemble door panels using prints, bills of material (BOMs), process standard sheets (PSS), and supervisor or Team Leader instructions.
Attach roller brackets to fabricated door panels using hand tools and light pneumatic or electric power tools.
Install extruded rubber seals into door channels, manually or with a special automatic puller.
Attach hinges to doors using a nut driver.
Measure and cut rubber for sensitive edges, install it into door channels, and route and run wire into sensitive edges.
Install glass windows in door panels and attach CLASS sensors when specified in the print.
Attach brush seals to panel bases, mount cover plates over brush mounts, and assemble shafts and related components to door panels.
Perform spray-paint touch-ups where necessary and apply caulk and adhesives when appropriate.
Install handles when specified in the print.
Perform other duties outside the function or trade when asked, with training provided if necessary.
