About The Position

Assembler I is an entry-level assembly position performing a range of assembly and production-support functions. The role offers an opportunity to learn basic assembly skills and gain knowledge by taking direction, communicating effectively, maintaining a positive attitude, and demonstrating willingness to learn.

The position works in a warehouse/light industrial environment and involves mostly standing with moderate walking. The job description provides a general overview and is not a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in assembly or a related field.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• Ability to read and understand measurements.
• Ability to read and understand drawings.
• Basic understanding of fabrication.
• Mechanical inclination.
• Ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to create and maintain record-retention and retrieval systems appropriate for the position.
• Willingness to work in a team-based environment, respect coworkers, and commit to continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations in production cells according to standard operating procedures.
• Perform various types of assembly, testing, kitting, and packing.
• Support or participate in lean activities and continuous improvement.
• Receive instruction from other production personnel as directed by a supervisor or designee.
• Package simple assemblies or subassemblies for shipment or transport.
• Process necessary production paperwork.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following company safety procedures.
• Maintain good communication with all Goodridge employees.
• Understand, cooperate with, and comply with plans and objectives directed by the management team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain equipment.
• Perform other assigned tasks and help in other departments when needed.
