About The Position

The Access Door Machine Operator’s primary function is to fabricate and assemble access doors. This role involves the hand assembly of a variety of parts to Duro Dyne specifications, packaging of small kits and parts, and operating machinery such as the JDS/JD assembly machine, Riveter, Bracket Machine, small presses, and various press breaks. The position requires interpreting blueprints and job orders, inspecting material during fabrication, and maintaining daily production records to meet quotas. The operator must also monitor machine performance, report any issues or imperfections, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to assist in other areas/departments when there is downtime.
  • Must be able to work a 10 hour/day work schedule.
  • Must be flexible – OT and weekends are required as needed.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must have good eye/hand coordination.
  • Must be able to lift 25 to 30 lbs routinely.
  • Must be able to stand and or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks).
  • Use of one or both feet or legs to move controls on machinery or equipment. Controls include, but are not limited to pedals, buttons, levers, and cranks.
  • Holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise work with hand(s). Note: Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand to hold or operate a tool such as pliers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the hand assembly of a variety of parts to Duro Dyne specifications.
  • Ensure the packaging of small kits and parts.
  • Operate JDS/JD assembly machine, Riveter, Bracket Machine and small presses and various press breaks.
  • Interpret blueprints and job orders.
  • Ensure the inspection of material as it is being fabricated.
  • Maintain and record daily production and production quotas.
  • Notify the supervisor and/or team lead when a machine is not working properly.
  • Reporting incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
