About The Position

Join a leading team as an Assembler 3, Instrument in Sparks, MD. Play a vital role in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting precision instruments in a dynamic, regulated manufacturing environment. This is a contractor position with a competitive pay rate of $25.50/hour, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Please note: This location is not near public transit; reliable transportation is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years of manufacturing experience, or AA technical degree with 1 year of experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits)
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and measuring dimensions
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality standards
  • Basic PC skills in Windows environment and ability to analyze production data
  • Effective time management and adaptability in a fast-paced, repetitive work setting
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and basic arithmetic)
  • Must pass criminal background check; education and employment verification pending

Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, and assemble complex electromechanical instruments and subassemblies
  • Perform quality inspections and maintain comprehensive device history records
  • Interpret engineering drawings, measure dimensions, and ensure blueprint compliance
  • Conduct preliminary component testing and basic troubleshooting
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble prototypes and production units
  • Mentor and train associates in assembly techniques and quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in Lean Manufacturing activities
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with GMP and company policies
  • Manage multiple production orders and adapt to frequent assignment changes
  • Perform material handling for raw materials and subassemblies as needed
