About The Position

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Production Assembler 2 to perform a range of routine assembly operations of small parts or components, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures. These individuals use light powered electrical or mechanical tools, including hand tools, in the construction of subassemblies. They work with the assembly team to sandblast parts with minimal efforts, fit and align and/or adjust parts to meet specifications and requirements, and some prep of composite parts for the paint department is necessary. Must be able to work with shop tools and equipment used in composite layup and assembly. Come and join the Applied Composites team. Requirements

A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
2-4 years of relevant work experience.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery.
Capable of performing basic mathematics.
Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures.
Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts.
Able to problem-solving using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills.
Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with standard shop practices in the aerospace industry.
Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles.
Experience in laminating Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composite material.

Responsibilities

Perform routine assembly operations of small parts or components.
Use light powered electrical or mechanical tools, including hand tools, in the construction of subassemblies.
Sandblast parts with minimal efforts.
Fit and align and/or adjust parts to meet specifications and requirements.
Prepare composite parts for the paint department.
Work with shop tools and equipment used in composite layup and assembly.
Use basic shop tools such as sanders, grinders and drill motors.
Use basic measuring devices such as calipers, scale and micrometers to verify dimensions.
Document the materials used in the process to maintain traceability.
Perform accurate work at a fast-pace.
Sandblast parts with minimal scrap or errors.
Wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to work with chemicals.
Demonstrate all safety policies and procedures.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
