About The Position

Assemblers must be able to perform a combination of production assembly tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards. Assemblers will assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a bench or conveyor line in an open-air manufacturing environment. Assemblers may be assigned to work in any area of the facility where required, including final assembly, subassembly, and insulation.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform a combination of production assembly tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards.
  • Ability to assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a bench or conveyor line in an open-air manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures (written and verbal).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders.
  • Ability to operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Knowledge of JSA’s, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ability to comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Ability to perform first article inspection for conformance to specifications.
  • Ability to work with other departments, shifts, and management.
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with co-workers, utilities, coordinators, and management.
  • Ability to report problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and/or questionable conditions to the Department Supervisor.
  • Ability to display professionalism in the workplace.
  • Ability to perform duties during times of stress and pressure.
  • Ability to manage time and deliver results.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions.
  • Ability to understand value-add versus non-value add activities and improve the ratio.
  • Availability to work overtime and/or move between shifts for training and/or coverage purposes.
  • Willingness to train on and perform all assembly positions in all production areas and on all product varieties within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a combination of production assembly tasks using hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to assemble final and subassembly products.
  • Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Understand the proper processes/equipment in the department.
  • Knowledge of JSA’s, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions and complies with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors.
  • Performs first article inspection for conformance to specifications both blue print and work order.
  • Builds teamwork by working with other departments, shifts, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with co-workers, utilities, coordinators, and management and reports problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and/or questionable conditions to the Department Supervisor.
