About The Position

Morrison Education Group's (MEG) Aspiring Educators Enrichment Program is a transformative opportunity for future educators to immerse themselves in the world of teaching by aligning with our school's vision, mission, and goals. This program is designed to align with Sun Valley Academy's mission of fostering a loving, inclusive, innovative, and impactful environment for students to learn and thrive while being educated. This voluntary program provides participants with hands-on field experience, allowing them to observe, engage, and collaborate within our dynamic educational environment. As an Aspiring Educator, you will collaborate with experienced educators, contribute to classroom activities, and support the development of a diverse and engaging learning community.

Requirements

Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Currently enrolled in a community college education program or related field.
Passion for education and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, teachers, and staff.
Adaptability and openness to learning from diverse educational perspectives.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Basic computer skills for preparing and delivering instructional materials.
Physical ability to engage in classroom activities and support students as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in delivering lessons, engaging students, and managing classroom activities.
Immerse yourself in the classroom environment, critically analyzing teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and student dynamics.
Collaborate with teachers to support students with diverse learning needs, homework guidance, constructive feedback, and tailored student support while ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
Contribute ideas and materials to enhance lesson plans and promote interactive learning.
Partner with educators to design creative, culturally responsive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning preferences.
Provide support to students who require additional assistance or guidance.
Assist in evaluating student work and providing constructive feedback for improvement. Receive one-on-one coaching and mentorship from teachers, benefiting from personalized insights for pedagogical refinement.
Participate in cultivating an inclusive classroom culture through managing behavioral situations and inspiring positive peer relationships.
Engage in school events, workshops, and meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the educational ecosystem.
Reflect on your experiences and insights, sharing them with mentors to foster personal and professional growth.
Work with educators to develop and execute collaborative projects that benefit both students and the community.
