About The Position

An asphalt worker is a construction professional who builds and maintains roads, driveways, and other paved surfaces by laying, spreading, and compacting asphalt materials to ensure a smooth, durable finish. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong physical stamina and strength (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
• Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to follow safety regulations and instructions
• Entry-level roles may require no experience (on-the-job training provided), to 1 year minimum experience required
• Experience in construction, road work, or paving is often preferred
• Outdoor construction environment
• Weather exposure (heat, cold, dust)
• Physically demanding role: Standing, bending, lifting 75+ lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform asphalt paving, patching, and repair work on roads, parking lots, and surfaces
• Operate paving equipment, rollers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery
• Rake, spread, and smooth asphalt to proper grade and finish
• Assist with site prep including grading, leveling, and compaction
• Follow project plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
• Ensure proper temperature handling and application of asphalt materials
• Maintain tools and equipment in working condition
• Follow all OSHA and jobsite safety standards
