About The Position

Performs any combination of tasks such as erecting, repairing, and wrecking; installing waterworks, locks and dams; and grading. This role involves digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel, lifting and carrying materials, cleaning tools and work areas, mixing and pouring concrete and asphalt, and performing routine non-machine tasks like removing forms from set concrete and filling expansion joints with asphalt.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
On the job training required.
Follow specific directions
Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy
Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
Evaluate information using measurable standards.
Stand or walk for long periods
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction).

Responsibilities

Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel, using pick and shovel.
Lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies.
Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials, using handtools.
Joins, wraps, and seals sections of pipe.
Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, and placing culvert sections in trench.
