About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking an Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator based out of Greer, SC. The ideal candidate will be familiar and experienced in operating equipment such as Pavers, Rollers, Skid Steers, and other related equipment. This role involves operating heavy equipment in road, site, or highway construction and paving, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in various conditions, lift heavy objects, and follow instructions from supervisors. General labor duties may also be assigned. Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends is necessary. A valid driver's license and the ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests are required.

Requirements

  • An uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Ability to properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends, as necessary.
  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug tests and random testing.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas including some experience with MUTCD traffic control preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
  • Follow directions of Supervisor/Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
