About The Position

Knife River is seeking experienced Asphalt/Paving Crew Equipment Operators for their Central Idaho Division, serving the Coeur d’Alene, ID and Spokane, WA areas. Requirements

Verifiable experience as an equipment operator
Valid driver’s license
Must be able to work day shifts and night shifts. Shifts may vary according to project demands
Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Must be willing to travel if job requires
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred

Responsibilities

Operate paver, roller, skid steer, grade tractor, power broom and other equipment as assigned in a safe and appropriate manner
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on equipment
Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
Operate equipment while maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings
Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (equipment operation/repair, etc.)
Monitor and discuss production problems with managers/supervisors
Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance
Perform other related duties as required
Timely and regular attendance is an essential requirement
