Our Molecular Imaging business line has an exciting opportunity for a talented and innovative ASIC Scientist to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will help shape the future of PET and SPECT medical imaging by developing next-generation application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that enable higher performance, improved image quality, and more advanced clinical capabilities. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, you will contribute to the research, design, validation, and integration of custom semiconductor solutions that support the next generation of Siemens Healthineers imaging systems used by healthcare providers around the world.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing integrated circuits, ASICs, or mixed-signal semiconductor devices.
  • Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles.
  • Experience using industry-standard IC design, simulation, and verification tools.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device operation and transistor-level circuit design.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and research teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and developing innovative ASIC architectures supporting next-generation PET and SPECT imaging systems.
  • Designing, simulating, analyzing, and implementing integrated circuits using industry-standard semiconductor CAD tools.
  • Performing laboratory experiments and developing test environments to validate new circuit concepts prior to product implementation.
  • Collaborating with internal ASIC designers, detector scientists, electrical engineers, and system architects to develop integrated hardware solutions.
  • Partnering with leading semiconductor manufacturers and external technology partners throughout the ASIC development lifecycle.
  • Applying a deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, and parasitic effects to optimize circuit performance.
  • Supporting the integration, characterization, and validation of ASIC designs within detector subsystems and complete imaging platforms.
  • Participating in technology investigations that advance Siemens Healthineers' long-term innovation roadmap for molecular imaging.
  • Documenting technical findings and presenting design concepts and results to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
