About The Position

John Turner Consulting (JTC) is seeking an Asbestos Project Monitor/Asbestos Inspector, certified in Massachusetts (or able to become certified), to join their Building Sciences Group. This role will be responsible for providing project monitoring and performing inspections for Asbestos, Lead, and Demolition projects within the Building Sciences sector. The position can be based out of any of JTC's offices in Massachusetts or New Hampshire. JTC is a well-established multi-disciplinary consulting firm founded in 1997, specializing in engineering, environmental, and infrastructure services. They are part of the Celnor Group, a UK-based environmental services group.

Requirements

  • Certified in Massachusetts (or can become certified) as an Asbestos Project Monitor and/or Asbestos Inspector.
  • Adaptive and flexible professional with the ability to respond effectively to changing schedules and emergency response situations.
  • Intuitive, solutions-oriented thinker with a consultative approach to client service and problem solving.
  • Skilled at assessing environmental conditions and understanding the broader purpose and impact of remediation services.
  • Comfortable utilizing respirators, safety harnesses, and additional PPE in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to support field-based project responsibilities.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in asbestos project monitoring and environmental oversight.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex hazardous building materials surveys covering asbestos, lead, PCBs, universal waste, and indoor air quality investigations.
  • Serve as on-site Project Monitor for abatement oversight, compliance verification, and air monitoring activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments, including LEED IAQ evaluations.
  • Perform moisture intrusion and microbial investigations to identify environmental and health risks.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth project execution and compliance.
  • Deliver accurate field assessments, technical reporting, and regulatory documentation across multiple environmental disciplines.
  • Utilize MA Asbestos Project Monitor and/or Asbestos Inspector certifications to support compliant environmental remediation projects.
