About The Position

Hydro-Environmental Technologies, Inc. (HETI) is seeking a qualified Asbestos Inspector / Asbestos Project Designer to join their team in the Metro Boston / New England area. This is a field-based role supporting asbestos inspection, design, and monitoring activities across Massachusetts and surrounding states. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in asbestos inspection, abatement design, and project oversight, and hold current certifications as an Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Designer. Industrial hygiene experience (mold, lead, IAQ) is a plus but secondary to asbestos expertise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asbestos inspection, abatement design, and project oversight
  • Current certifications as an Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Designer
  • Must be currently licensed in Massachusetts at time of hire
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
  • NIOSH 582 (Phase Contrast Microscopy)
  • Asbestos Inspector certification
  • Asbestos Management Planner certification
  • Asbestos Project Designer certification
  • Asbestos Project Monitor certification (strongly preferred / expected)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple field assignments
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial hygiene experience (mold, lead, IAQ)
  • Additional New England state asbestos licenses
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Perform asbestos inspections and surveys in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Develop asbestos abatement design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Conduct air monitoring and clearance sampling for asbestos abatement projects
  • Perform project monitoring and oversight of abatement contractors
  • Collect bulk samples and coordinate laboratory analysis
  • Prepare technical reports, abatement plans, and regulatory documentation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations
  • Support additional environmental and industrial hygiene tasks as needed
  • Travel throughout the New England region as project needs arise
