About The Position

The City of Beaumont is seeking individuals to serve on the Arts Advisory Committee. This committee provides strategic guidance and recommendations to Council on integrating art into public spaces, promoting local artists, and strengthening community identity through artistic expressions. The committee also reviews arts grant applications. There are three vacancies available starting December 31, 2026. Members are expected to attend monthly meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM in a city facility, with no meetings in July, August, and December. A minimum of eight meetings are held annually. Committee members are eligible for an honorarium.

Requirements

Demonstrate experience and/or education in the arts.
Able to convey ideas clearly and listen actively.
Work effectively within a team.
Plan and prioritize to ensure dedication of sufficient time.
Be punctual and reliable.
A willingness to think strategically for the best interests of the community.
Must be a resident of Beaumont.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to Council on integrating art into public spaces.
