About The Position
As an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer at FIS, you will design and build generative AI and agent-based solutions used across the organization. You will develop applications powered by large language models, create automated workflows, connect AI systems with enterprise platforms, and evaluate solutions for accuracy, reliability, and safety. You will join a team of solution architects, data scientists, and machine learning engineers focused on identifying and delivering valuable AI solutions. Your work will help teams across FIS use emerging technology responsibly, improve business processes, and create new opportunities through scalable generative AI and agent-based systems.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience working with artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, or agent-based systems.
- Hands-on experience with large language models, prompting techniques, structured outputs, model routing, context management, and memory management.
- Strong Python skills and experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Pandas.
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, hybrid retrieval patterns, and evaluation of generative AI systems.
- Experience building and deploying RESTful services with Flask or FastAPI and working with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with large language model fine-tuning or parameter-efficient tuning methods such as LoRA or QLoRA.
- Familiarity with orchestration frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, OpenAI Assistants API, or Model Context Protocol.
- Experience with production machine learning operations, monitoring, observability, security, compliance, or data governance for generative AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and build generative AI applications using open and proprietary large language models.
- Develop agent-based systems that use planning, memory, tools, and orchestration to complete complex tasks.
- Create multi-agent, human-in-the-loop, and autonomous workflows.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise platforms, APIs, and business workflows.
- Evaluate and improve model and system performance, including accuracy, grounding, reliability, and safety.
