About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable AI/ML solutions for mission-critical operations. The role involves implementing machine learning algorithms, developing advanced analytical models, and transitioning prototypes into production-ready solutions. The engineer designs intelligent systems, optimizes model performance, and integrates AI/ML technologies into enterprise systems and cloud-based architectures to meet customer requirements. The engineer selects datasets, conducts statistical analysis, researches and implements algorithms and frameworks, and designs model architectures and data representations. The role includes training and retraining models, monitoring performance and data quality, conducting testing and evaluation—including verification, validation, explainability, and resiliency assessments—and converting data science prototypes into scalable solutions. The engineer also provides system integration oversight, collaborates with software engineering teams, applies knowledge representation principles, improves AI/ML frameworks, and supports technical leadership and stakeholder communications. Candidates must have at least ten years of experience deploying machine learning algorithms and a master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field. Seven additional years of machine learning experience, together with a relevant bachelor's degree, may substitute for the master's degree requirement, for a total of seventeen years of qualifying experience. Candidates must demonstrate software engineering and AI/ML testing and evaluation abilities. An active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, an in-scope polygraph within the past seven years, and U.S. citizenship are required. Wyetech describes its culture as focused on solving problems for federal government customers and offers a SEP IRA contribution, paid time off, voluntary benefit plans, referral bonuses, mobility among supported contracts, and employee events. The listed hourly pay range is $95.81–$129.74; actual compensation depends on factors including contract rates, qualifications, experience, and location.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience deploying machine learning algorithms.
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Advanced Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or Deep Learning from an accredited college or university; alternatively, a relevant bachelor's degree plus seven additional years of machine learning experience, totaling 17 years of qualifying experience.
  • Demonstrated abilities in software engineering and AI/ML model testing and evaluation.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • An in-scope polygraph within the past seven years.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying machine learning algorithms and AI-driven solutions.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning model architectures, data pipelines, statistical analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Experience training, retraining, evaluating, and optimizing machine learning models using iterative feedback.
  • Proficiency with machine learning libraries, frameworks, and analytical tools.
  • Experience applying software engineering principles, data modeling, and data structures to scalable AI/ML solutions.
  • Understanding of data engineering, data governance, infrastructure management, and application development.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models into enterprise systems and cloud-based architectures.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders, lead development efforts, and communicate analytical findings effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, Java, C, or R.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Experience serving as a technical point of contact for AI/ML development and integration efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Select datasets, perform statistical analysis, and develop machine learning algorithms aligned with customer requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement AI/ML algorithms, frameworks, and tools for advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Design and optimize model architectures, data representations, and knowledge representation techniques.
  • Train, retrain, monitor, and improve machine learning models using performance metrics and iterative feedback.
  • Evaluate data quality, model outputs, and data-distribution changes that could affect analytical performance.
  • Develop and execute AI/ML testing and evaluation procedures, including verification, validation, explainability, and resiliency assessments.
  • Convert data science prototypes into scalable, production-ready AI/ML solutions.
  • Design, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML models across commercial cloud-based architectures.
  • Provide system integration oversight and collaborate with software engineering teams to support deployment and operational performance.
  • Apply AI logic, semantics, ontologies, and knowledge representation principles to machine learning solutions.
  • Expand existing AI/ML frameworks and libraries to improve functionality, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Support technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication of AI/ML development activities.
