PTC - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consultant
About The Position
The AI Consultant designs, develops, and deploys artificial intelligence models and algorithms; collaborates with cross-functional teams to address AI-related challenges; and analyzes complex data to produce actionable insights. The role also maintains, troubleshoots, and improves existing AI applications and models, documents and presents findings to stakeholders, and keeps current with developments in AI and machine learning. The position is virtual/remote until further notice. When onsite work is required, it will take place at PA Turnpike facilities in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The resource must attend a full-day onsite orientation and collect assigned equipment in person. The resource is expected to attend onsite as needed for planned implementations or system issues, and must be able to reach a PA Turnpike work location within three hours in an emergency. Remote work includes participation in meetings with cameras on and maintaining a professional appearance. Overtime requires advance approval from the Project Principal.
Requirements
- Proven experience in AI, machine learning, or data science.
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms, Azure Synapse, and data workflows such as pipelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to attend onsite orientation in Middletown, PA and collect equipment in person.
- Must be available to come to a PA Turnpike work location within three hours in case of an emergency.
Responsibilities

- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot existing AI applications and models, including fixing bugs and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Continuously improve AI models through iteration and experimentation.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning.
- Document and present findings and results to stakeholders.
- Attend an onsite orientation at a PA Turnpike office in Middletown, PA, and collect assigned equipment.
- Work onsite as needed for planned implementations or system issues, with advance notice when possible.
- Follow published PA Turnpike IT Standards and virtual-work guidelines.
