About The Position

As a Teacher at Friendly Academy, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality instruction, nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of our students. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
MO Teacher or Sub Certification required
Teaching experience, preferably in a K-5 setting
Knowledge of high quality instructional material, best educational practices, and classroom management strategies
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality standards-aligned lessons in Music, Physical Education, or Art that promote creativity, physical wellness, and student expression. Integrate literacy, social-emotional learning, and culturally responsive practices where appropriate.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support where needed to ensure all students thrive academically and socially/emotionally.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional leaders to support schoolwide initiatives, interdisciplinary connections, and student engagement.
Monitor and assess student growth in skills, participation, and content-area standards using developmentally appropriate performance-based assessments.
Build strong partnerships with families, communicating regularly about student progress and supporting them in their child’s educational journey.
Actively participate in professional development opportunities to grow as an educator and contribute to the development of the school’s academic programs and culture.
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and kindness. Implement the school’s behavior management strategies and support student growth in social-emotional learning.
Prepare and maintain instructional materials, equipment, and learning environments for Music, PE, or Art; support school events and performances; and collaborate to promote student creativity, wellness, and schoolwide enrichment.
Engage in student recruitment efforts by sharing Friendly Academy’s vision with prospective families and contributing to a strong, inclusive school community.
