The Art Teacher is responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students. This role involves supervising students in various school-related settings, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, and communicating effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community. The teacher will develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students, fostering an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. The position also requires striving to maintain and improve professional competence, maintaining appropriate records, and monitoring the use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Regular, on-time attendance is expected, along with serving on special committees and performing other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement, and the Building Principal. A key aspect of the role is assisting students in developing critical-thinking abilities by gaining an understanding of the content’s concepts.
