Art Music Therapist-Atrium Health CMC Main-FT
About The Position
The position is planned as a 40-hour role, though scheduling details are flexible and open to discussion. The Art Music Therapist will work at Carolinas Medical Center, a 900+ bed, trauma 1 hospital, providing music therapy services throughout all units. Music therapists address symptom management, emotional support, end-of-life support, and rehabilitative work with other therapy teams. There are opportunities for group and individual sessions with a variety of patient populations including behavioral health, stroke/neurologic diagnoses, surgical trauma, general medical/surgical, addiction and substance abuse, antepartum, and patients with altered mental status, delirium and dementia.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in art, music, or an education-related field required
- National Certification in Music Therapy required for Music Therapists
- Minimum of one year of Art/Music Therapy experience in a healthcare setting
- At least one year of experience in a medical facility
- Experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- National Certification in Art Therapy preferred for Art Therapists
- Experience in inpatient setting or music therapy program preferred
