About The Position

The Art Model poses for art students at Spokane Falls Community College to draw, paint, sculpt, or photograph. Under the general supervision of the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, the model supports figure drawing, painting, and sculpture sessions, including draped and nude modeling as required. The role may be filled as a permanent or non-permanent classified part-time hourly position. Non-permanent employment may not exceed 18 months. Work is scheduled by the supervisor and may be up to 16 hours per week.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to maintain a static pose for up to 30 minutes at a time.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and lie down.
Ability to follow directions.
Must be able to work in and promote a multicultural work and education environment.
Provide acceptable documentation of U.S. citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States.
Successfully complete the required criminal background check.
Submit a declaration regarding sexual misconduct and investigation after being chosen for the position.

Responsibilities

Model for students and instructors during figure drawing, painting, and sculpture sessions, including draped and nude modeling as required.
Maintain stationary poses and expressions for designated periods to support observation, artistic development, and classroom instruction.
Adjust body positions, facial expressions, and gestures according to instructor direction and educational objectives.
Pose for student artists in classrooms or studios for painting, figure drawing, and related work.
Maintain professional decorum and mutual respect in personal interactions.
Comply with district policies, procedures, directives, state and federal regulations, orders, statutes, and collective bargaining agreements.
Support and advance the Spokane Colleges strategic plan and perform other duties as assigned.
