Art Instructors - 1099 Contractor Opportunity (Resort)
About The Position
The Tides Inn's Maker Space is seeking creative, guest-focused Art Instructors to lead engaging classes for adults and children in a luxury resort setting. This is a contract teaching opportunity, not a W-2 position, well-suited to budding artists, art students, and experienced instructors looking to share their craft. Classes are offered daily from 10:00–11:30 a.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m. Instructors are preferred to be available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, committing to two days per week, with priority given to Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday availability. The contract term is through January 4, 2027.
Requirements
- Artistic experience and confidence teaching one or more listed disciplines.
- Ability to lead classes independently and adapt instruction for children and adults.
- A reliable, friendly, professional presence and strong attention to detail.
- Current art students and emerging artists are encouraged to apply.
Nice To Haves
- Ceramics experience is strongly preferred, particularly pottery on the wheel and clay handbuilding.
Responsibilities
- Independently teach at least one Maker Space class to adults and/or children.
- Lead classes in one or more of the following areas: Pottery on the Wheel, Clay Handbuilding, Watercolors, Printmaking, or Crafts.
- Prepare materials and maintain an organized, welcoming studio environment.
- Complete class and studio set-up and clean-up.
- Deliver warm, polished, high-quality guest service consistent with a luxury resort experience.
