About The Position

The Art Instructor 2 provides support and instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a creative, inclusive, and person-centered environment. This position promotes artistic growth, community integration, and the visibility of the studio while helping individuals achieve personal goals through art and vocational development. The Art Instructor 2 is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to RHD's values in all aspects of their work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field; and One (1) year of related experience in an art discipline.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and Three (3) years of studio practice experience, including at least one (1) year of related experience in an art discipline.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
Ability to successfully complete all required employment screenings, including FBI clearances when applicable.
Valid driver's license.
Current vehicle registration and insurance.
Access to a reliable and functional vehicle.
Working knowledge of all software applications necessary to perform assigned job duties.

Responsibilities

Guide artists through creative processes while teaching various art materials, techniques, and artistic skills.
Participate in the development and implementation of curricula designed to educate and enrich individuals served.
Teach art-making techniques and vocational skills that support personal growth and skill development.
Work individually with participants, as needed, to reduce barriers to learning and enhance engagement in services.
Support individuals in community-based activities according to service outcomes and the frequency and duration outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic, person-centered, and values-driven services.
Meet with family members, support networks, and other stakeholders, as appropriate, to coordinate services that align with participants' life goals.
Assist with the recruitment, development, and coordination of volunteers working within the studio.
Collaborate with team members to support day-to-day operations and participate in staff meetings and required in-service trainings.
Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
Monitor daily attendance and coordinate staff assignments to facilitate classes and support special projects.
Maintain the organization of the studio, classrooms, supplies, and storage areas, including inventory management of art materials.
Ensure a safe and healthy environment for participants and staff by adhering to all safety procedures and promptly reporting incidents to the supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
