The Art History Instructor, reporting to the Director of Education or Program Chair, is responsible for facilitating student learning and ensuring the achievement of course and program learning outcomes. This role involves teaching, inspiring, motivating, guiding, and supporting students. The instructor will continually improve instructional and professional skills, update course materials, and set high expectations for the quality of student work. A key responsibility is ensuring students complete coursework that meets class goals with quality and attention to detail. The instructor must fully comply with all policies, practices, and procedures of SAE Institute as outlined in the faculty handbook, catalog, procedures manuals, and faculty assignment agreement. This is a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor position with ongoing contract renewal as needed. The instructor will provide education aligned with the SAE model of curricula and delivery, establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement, and contribute to a learning culture through academic advising, curriculum committees, campus events, and collegiate meetings. The role includes managing the learning environment by keeping accurate records and enforcing college policies, posting attendance and grades promptly, and developing instructional plans and activities to meet course competencies. The instructor will also maintain and update content on the Learning Management System (Canvas) and use it to engage and communicate with students. Maintaining instructor eligibility according to regulations is also a core duty.
