About The Position

The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for adjunct faculty in the field of Architecture. The ideal candidates will have a Master’s of Architecture (M.Arch) degree, professional experience, as well as a passion for teaching. These adjunct professors will prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture or studio-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches. In the Spring 2026 semester, the selected adjunct(s) will provide instruction for one or both of the following classes: ARTA 3625 – Design Essentials and Form in Architecture (3 credits) A studio-based course exploring the relationship between concept and form. Topics include composition, architectural precedent, sketching, and digital modeling techniques. ARTA 4735 – Architecture Design Studio Capstone (3 credits) A culminating studio focused on innovative architectural design practices, including urban design, computational design, architectural technology, ecology, culture, and representation. Opportunities to teach may be available in future semesters. Course options, availability and schedules can vary each semester.

Responsibilities
