About The Position

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining various cardiac monitoring systems, including Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, MCOT monitors, and Internal Loop Recorders (ILR). The role involves patient preparation, education, device application and removal, data management, interpretation of results, and communication with physicians regarding abnormalities. Additionally, the position assists in the functioning of the Pacemaker Clinic, ensuring proper maintenance of supplies, equipment, and emergency preparedness.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
• Holds active FL license
• Current CPR certification
• Must be able to read EKG tracings

Responsibilities

• Maintains Holter Monitor system: prepares patient and equipment, explains and instructs patient on monitor use, places and removes monitors, maintains database and runs reports, edits and interprets reports for physician dictation, ensures physician is informed of abnormalities, maintains Holter Monitor log.
• Applies Event Monitor & MCOT monitors to patients: inputs patient information, instructs patient on monitor use, receives and interprets transmissions, generates and records reports, maintains database, ensures physician is informed of abnormalities.
• Manages Internal Loop Recorder (ILR): educates patient on activator use, evaluates and interprets rhythms, maintains database, ensures physician is informed of abnormalities, reviews remote site daily for activity.
• Assists in proper functioning of Pacemaker Clinic: maintains rooms, supplies, and equipment, responds to emergency situations, performs 96-month maintenance check, maintains HeartStart Defibrillator & AED and checks off sheet daily.
