About The Position

Join a busy practice with 1 Cardiothoracic Surgeon and 1 APP. The role requires experience of at least 100 vein harvests and involves a 1:2 call schedule, with APPs called in for procedures approximately 10-15 times per year. Call is 10 days per month. The position is part of a comprehensive cardiology team offering non-invasive, invasive, interventional, and EP services, working closely with cardiac surgery and vascular surgery. The cardiology team includes 10 physicians, 7 APPs, and 10 fellows. The role is based at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, a 342-bed regional referral teaching hospital and Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 ED, hospitalist services, helicopter, and state-of-the-art cath labs. Physicians and staff are dedicated to compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care for cardiovascular disease and the promotion of good health. The position offers a competitive guaranteed base salary starting at $180,905/year, a $25,000 starting bonus, and $30-35,000 in call pay annually, totaling over $235,000 in the first year. Call pay is $150 daily, $250 for Saturday/Sunday/holidays, plus $300 for procedure call-ins. MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is a regional health system covering 14 counties, including seven critical access hospitals and 42 clinics in northern Iowa. It is a teaching hospital with various residency and fellowship programs.

Requirements

Experience of at least 100 vein harvests
BC as an ARNP or PA
Ability to obtain an Iowa medical license, DEA, and CSA
Ability to obtain MercyOne North Iowa medical staff privileges

Responsibilities

Participate in a 1:2 call schedule
Be available for procedure call-ins (approximately 10-15 times/year)
