About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Armed Special Police Officer who holds an active SPO Armed License and is certified to carry a 9MM firearm. This role requires a polished professional appearance, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to walk and stand for extended periods. As an Armed Security Officer, you will actively monitor premises, patrol various locations, preserve order, and enforce regulations and directives. You will also provide customer service and information to clients, employees, and visitors, serving as a physical deterrent.
Requirements
- Active SPO Armed license or ability to obtain
- Minimum seven (7) years of armed security, military (armed forces), or law enforcement experience
- 9mm/Shotgun Certification
- Firearms proficiency
- Proficient in firearm safety
- Experienced in situational awareness & observation
- Ability to make fast and sound decisions, particularly in high stress situations
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required for report writing
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to make quick and efficient decisions without supervision present
- Fluent in use-of-force techniques
- Knowledgeable about the current events in the DC area
- Polished Professional Appearance
- Physical Endurance: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
