About The Position

Terrible's is seeking a vigilant and professional candidate for its Armed Security Transport Officer position. This position involves safeguarding cash and valuables, managing secure pickups and deliveries, and ensuring the safety of both personnel and assets. Exceptional customer service and adherence to the highest level of security procedures are integral. Carrying out activities involving handling or transporting cash and valuables as part of this position have an affirmative duty to minimize risks and help prevent loss due to internal or external fraud or theft.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an armed security guard and experience in money handling and transport.
  • Valid Armed Security Guard license and permit to carry a firearm as required by the state.
  • Completion of relevant security training programs, including firearm safety and use of force.
  • Excellent observational and surveillance skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Must meet one of the following: Hold a current concealed weapon permit issued by a political subdivision of the State of Nevada; Be presently employed as an active-duty law enforcement officer in the State of Nevada; Be a retired law enforcement officer who holds a current Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act card.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employees must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required for position by federal, state and local regulations which may include: Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada state security license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming and non-gaming licenses as required by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
  • Must qualify for and maintain an armed security officer license in accordance with Nevada state regulations, including completing required firearms training and passing necessary background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification from ASIS International is preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential is a plus.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees, vehicles, and valuables during collection, transit and delivery.
  • Execute secure pickups and deliveries at a variety of the company’s locations.
  • Maintain communication with department and dispatch.
  • Identify possible vulnerable spots on routes and maintain extra vigilance in those areas.
  • Monitor and maintain a secure environment while remaining alert to threats or accidents.
  • Reconcile deposits and valuables daily.
  • Manage entry and exit points, verifying identification and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Handle conflicts and disputes in a professional manner, ensuring de-escalation and resolution of issues without compromising safety.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement agencies to report criminal activities and assist with investigations as needed.
  • Adhere to all firearm handling, qualifications and security regulations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and ensure compliance with all legal regulations and company policies regarding the use of firearms and other security measures.
  • Provide assistance and support to customers and employees, addressing any security concerns and promoting a safe environment.
