About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer for patrol at a retail location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The officer will help safeguard customers, employees, vendors, visitors, and the property by conducting armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring for concerns, responding to incidents, and providing professional customer service. This role requires a concealed carry weapons permit and Pennsylvania Act 235 qualification prior to employment. The stated pay rate is $23.00 per hour. The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Requirements

Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
Possess Pennsylvania Act 235 qualification; valid Act 235 certification is required prior to employment.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to store customers, employees, vendors, and visitors while following site-specific procedures and carrying out emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor for security-related concerns, suspicious behavior, hazardous conditions, and policy violations, and report observations through required channels.
Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following applicable procedures.
Maintain awareness of retail operations and assist with access control, traffic flow, and coordination with store personnel or responding emergency services as needed.
