About The Position

Hana Technology and Systems, Inc. is recruiting professional armed security officers for its Mid Atlantic Regional contract at Norfolk Naval Ship Yard locations in Virginia. Officers provide security for personnel, property, facilities, and assets in accordance with Navy protocols. The role includes access control, inspections, patrols, emergency response, and, as needed, escort and courier services. The posting offers retention bonuses of $500 after 90 days and another $500 after 180 days working on the contract.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance; candidates with an active Secret Clearance are preferred.
Must be able to acquire Virginia DCJS Armed certification.
Two to five years of armed experience in the security industry, such as guard services, police, or military.
Valid driver's license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to work evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends as required.
Ability to pass a basic medical evaluation, psychological evaluation, and performance fitness test.
Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
Must be at least 21 years old or an honorably discharged veteran.

Responsibilities

Provide security and safety for personnel, property, facilities, and assets.
Provide entry control point services to deter and deny unauthorized ingress and egress by personnel, property, equipment, vessels, or vehicles.
Safeguard the base against sabotage and incidents that could jeopardize normal operations, including theft, robbery, riots, lawlessness, and demonstrations.
Check identification to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the facility.
Inspect commercial vehicles and cargo to ensure only authorized vehicles and cargo enter the facility.
Execute emergency closure procedures during emergencies, when required, to deny ingress and egress.
Provide roving guard services and perimeter and interior patrols to detect and timely report security breaches and criminal or suspicious activity.
Provide escort and courier services as needed to ensure safe and timely delivery of personnel and property.
Assist with plans and procedures for major catastrophes and hostile acts to maintain adequate security within the command.
