Requirements

  • Security Guard obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles required.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Law Enforcement preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.
  • Security Professional preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in a security, military, or law enforcement role, preferably within a healthcare or high-traffic service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Secure the clinical environment by maintaining a highly visible, armed presence to deter violence and provide an immediate, expert response to life-safety threats.
  • De-escalate high-tension situations using advanced communication and tactical positioning to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and healthcare providers.
  • Govern the facility’s emergency response by leading coordinated actions during critical incidents, ensuring all security interventions prioritize the preservation of life.
  • Audit safety infrastructure and report on security hazards, ensuring that the physical environment remains a fortified yet welcoming space for healing.
  • Document critical incidents with precision, providing the legal and operational clarity required for high-level risk management and regulatory compliance.
