About The Position

KRE Security, LLC is seeking experienced Armed Security Officers for per diem assignments throughout the Harrisburg region. This position offers maximum flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts based on your availability while working in a professional, well-supported environment. This role is ideal for individuals with ACT 235 certification who are looking to supplement income, maintain flexibility, or transition into a more consistent role over time.

Requirements

  • Current ACT 235 certification (required)
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Reliable and punctual when accepting shifts
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to obtain required Pennsylvania school clearances: ChildLine Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History (Act 34), FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114)
  • Must pass background check
  • Required in-person orientation prior to assignment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior armed security, military, or law enforcement experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible, professional armed security presence
  • Conduct foot and/or mobile patrols
  • Monitor access points, alarms, and overall site conditions
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns
  • Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports (Belfry Software)
  • Enforce post orders and client policies
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and fellow officers
