About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking an Armed Security Officer to join their Security department. This full-time position operates on the night shift, from 11 P.M. to 7:30 A.M. The role involves proactively monitoring and responding to security threats, conducting investigations, documenting incidents, and assisting with staff training on emergency procedures. The officer will also serve as a resource for staff and visitors, perform patrols, manage traffic and parking, and ensure safe driving practices.

Requirements

Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Class D (Unarmed Security License) and Class G License (Armed Security License) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Ability to effectively read, write and type incident reports.

Nice To Haves

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Law Enforcement preferred.
Security Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

Proactively monitor for and respond quickly and professionally to all security threats, incidents, and hazards.
Conduct investigations, meticulously document incidents, and assist in training staff on the environment of care and emergency management procedures/drills.
Act as a helpful resource, providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote overall safety.
Perform foot and vehicle patrols, manage traffic and parking enforcement, and report any potential equipment malfunctions.
Maintain safe and responsible driving practices while operating facility vehicles.
