As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service calls with calm professionalism. This is a driving post requiring a valid in-state driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to customers, team members, and visitors while following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail grocery location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and the property perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with store leadership and law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas such as receiving docks, cash handling areas, and back-of-house spaces; monitor CCTV and/or other security-related systems for irregular activity.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports, document observations and actions taken, and help to deter loss and/or disruptive behavior through high-visibility presence and professional communication.
