About The Position

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Armed Healthcare Security Officer to provide weekend security coverage at a medical facility in Glenwood Springs. This assignment focuses on maintaining a secure environment for patients, visitors, healthcare professionals, and emergency responders while supporting hospital operations with professionalism and sound judgment. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, communicates effectively, and is comfortable working in a healthcare setting where compassion, safety, and rapid response are equally important.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Personal firearms are required for this assignment.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for transportation.
  • Ability to meet all applicable armed security licensing and qualification requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to hospital staff and emergency personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in armed healthcare security, hospital security, law enforcement, military service, or emergency response environments.
  • Experience interacting with medical professionals and first responders.
  • Strong conflict resolution and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of report writing and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols throughout the hospital campus.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to help promote a safe and orderly environment.
  • Monitor entrances, parking areas, treatment locations, and public spaces.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or security concerns.
  • Assist hospital personnel by maintaining a secure environment for patients and employees.
  • Support staff during incidents involving disruptive, combative, or intoxicated individuals while following established procedures.
  • Help reduce risks through professional communication and effective conflict de-escalation whenever appropriate.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents and requests for assistance.
  • Assist with helicopter arrivals and departures by helping maintain safe landing zone operations.
  • Support EMS personnel during inbound and outbound patient transport activities.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff, emergency responders, and supervisors during emergency situations.
  • Always follow facility emergency procedures and security protocols.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports before the end of each shift.
  • Document security concerns, patient-related incidents, and unusual events accurately.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and client representatives.
  • Protect confidential information while demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
