As a Armed Security Officer - Vehicle Route Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform vehicle and/or foot patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

An armed guard card or license is required.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or law enforcement as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and verify identification, visitor authorization, and/or vehicle entry in accordance with site protocols while maintaining accurate logs and reports.
Support emergency and situational response activities, including de-escalation, crowd management, and coordination with first responders, while following post orders and applicable use of force guidelines.
