As a Armed Security Officer - Vehicle Route Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform vehicle and/or foot patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification, visitor authorization, and/or vehicle entry in accordance with site protocols while maintaining accurate logs and reports.
  • Support emergency and situational response activities, including de-escalation, crowd management, and coordination with first responders, while following post orders and applicable use of force guidelines.
