About The Position

As a Armed Security Officer - Transit in Denver, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional assistance to riders, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of experience as a Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, Armed Security Professional, or be a certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge, an Associate's Degree, 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding property.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate transit personnel, emergency services, and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, verifying authorization when required and documenting incidents, hazards, and unusual conditions according to site procedures.
  • Maintain required firearm qualifications and follow applicable laws, regulations, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures regarding the carrying and use of assigned equipment.
