Requirements

  • At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate emergency personnel and/or site representatives as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific procedures, maintaining a professional presence while assisting visitors with directions and basic information.
  • Prepare accurate reports and document incidents, observations, and patrol activities according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
