About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Response Driver in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to designated areas, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of visitor, staff, and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation for incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and responding agencies.
