As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, facility-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned correctional facility areas, grounds, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access and egress points, verify authorization for entry, and document visitor, vehicle, and/or contractor activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and communications with facility personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
