The Armed Security Guard secures the facility under established operating procedures and processes. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and requires union membership as a condition of employment. The pay rate is $30.15 per hour, with an additional $5.25 per hour for Health & Welfare, and a $1.00 per hour night shift differential for hours between 11 PM and 7 AM. The role involves providing 'Life Safety' response, including active shooter situations, and enforcing regulations to prevent security breaches. The guard will respond to alarms, complaints, incidents, violations, and suspicious activities, taking appropriate action as needed. Responsibilities include securing crime scenes, preserving evidence, performing crowd control, and conducting personnel, vehicular, and building facility checks. First Aid and CPR certification are required. The position also involves completing all required reports and documentation, continuously staffing posts, providing access control, and reporting violations. The guard will direct and provide information to visitors, potentially operate screening equipment like x-ray machines, magnetometers, and hand-held wands, and screen packages. Safeguarding all assets, providing assistance, and escorting persons and equipment are also key duties. Regular foot and vehicle patrols are required to monitor unusual situations and conditions through personal or electronic surveillance. Additional assignments will be conducted in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
