About The Position

We are seeking a professional and observant Retail Security Officer to maintain a visible security presence and support a safe shopping environment. The role involves active foot patrols, theft deterrence, and collaboration with store staff and property management to protect people, property, and merchandise. Work is performed primarily indoors in a busy retail or shopping environment, with frequent interaction with the public, store employees, and security team members. The officer must maintain a professional demeanor in high-traffic, high-pressure situations.

The position is full-time, scheduled Thursday through Monday from 1430 to 2300, with a listed pay rate of $35.00. Applicants must be at least 18, hold a valid California BSIS Guard Card, and have a high school diploma or GED. The role requires good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, alertness, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in retail security, customer service, or loss prevention.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility presence throughout retail areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
• Conduct routine foot patrols inside and around the store or shopping center to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Respond professionally and appropriately to incidents involving theft, trespassing, or disturbances.
• Communicate regularly with store employees, property management, and other on-site personnel to exchange updates and receive direction.
• Support loss prevention efforts by observing shoppers and reporting suspected shoplifting to appropriate personnel.
• Provide customer service as needed, including offering directions or answering basic inquiries while maintaining security priorities.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
