About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Armed Security Officer to support safety and security operations within upscale country club communities. The role combines access control, foot and vehicle patrols, surveillance, gatehouse technology, detailed reporting, emergency response, and crime prevention with courteous, high-level customer service to residents and guests.

The officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice to cover call-offs, vacation leaves, or additional coverage requests. Scheduling is based on business needs, so shifts and hours vary. Team members should have flexible availability to work a variety of shifts and days throughout the week. The position is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and pays $20.00 to $21.00 per hour.

The work includes indoor and outdoor assignments in varied weather, potentially including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Duties involve extended standing, walking, and sitting; patrolling varied surfaces; monitoring cameras and alarms; and responding to emergencies. Employees may need to run, climb stairs, navigate obstacles, and occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds. The role requires alertness, attention to detail, and professional communication throughout an eight-hour shift or as operationally required.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background screening and drug test.
• Ability to pass a mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to exchange information, provide instructions, and draft reports.

• Ability to perform indoor and outdoor duties in diverse weather conditions and remain alert during extended periods of observation.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; traverse the property and patrol varied surfaces; and move between posts for an eight-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to react quickly to emergencies, which may require running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate via two-way radio or telephone.
• Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed interior and exterior foot and/or vehicle patrols to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
• Sound alarms or immediately contact police or fire departments in the event of fire, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, authorize entry for appropriate persons, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
